![About Teach to Reach image]()
Conceptually, if we as teachers do not REACH our students, we fail to TEACH! Yes, it is just that simple. The connection must be made between skills that are taught and the true value that these skills are capable of producing in life. Gone are the days of memorizing and learning because someone said you would understand why later in life. With the changes brought forth by Common Core and advancements in technology, educators are faced with the challenges like never before. In completing my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, I became overwhelmed with the amount of research that kept pointing to the fact that education must become the arrangement of real-world experiences that are crafted in such a way as to compel learners to participate because it had visible meaning in the world around them. This site is designed to offer research, lessons and ideas that demonstrate learning with purpose. In addition, I would encourage the sharing of resources from other teaching professionals that understand what it means to offer a 21st century education. Together, we can create a community of those that can REACH and TEACH.
